First off all, this EP was meant to hype up the Little Brother album 'The Minstrel Show'. Percy is Phonte's alter ego. Well, if you expect Rap like the one on the 'The Minstrel Show' CD you'll be greatly disappointet (or for the haters: you'll be happy). I think the liner notes in the one paged CD Booklet sums this project up: He's sold over 10.000.000 records in Bulgaria. His concerts have sold out community centers around the world. And now, he's back to reclaim his title as 'De Kaing Of Black Music' The quote above already tells the listener that shit shouldn't be taken as a serious record. Give this a listen, but don't expect serious music, this is meant to be funny and not to be taken seriously. Now that's an hilarious promo item. 7 track deep Promotional EP, the.rar contains shots of the CD, booklet and of course the cover. Sorr for the shitty cellphone pictures, I was too lazy to bring out the Scanner. Download FLAC Papoose - The Nacirema Dream 2013 lossless CD, MP3. Papoose – The Nacirema Dream (2013) Friday, July. For those of you are aren't familiar with the Grammy-award winning artist, Van Hunt is the creative singer who released his first self-titled album in 2004, Van Hunt, and then On the Jungle Floor in 2006, both containing hit singles such as 'Character' and 'Dust'. He brings a breath of fresh air and originality to today's sometimes stale contemporary sounds. The new self-produced full length album, Popular, will be released on January 15, 2008 with the following track listing: 01. Turn my TV on. Last night, I had a conversation with an aspiring producer. As most producers that you can find on the internet, he wasn’t doing anything much outside of the internet. Collaborations are set-up over AIM and MySpace. Promotion includes posting a Soundclick link on a few select message boards, and that pretty much sums it all up. As a part of the conversation, it was mentioned that said producer wanted to be signed to an indie label, much emphasis on “Want.” So, I ask the question, “Why do you want to be indie?” The answer is pretty typical. Control of creativity, a sense of control over finances, work ethic, all that good stuff. And the question I ask myself requires a bit more introspection. Why wouldn’t someone want to be on a major label? The goal of every artist should be to have their art experienced by as many people as possible. This is something an indie label cannot produce. The money is not there, the connections are not there, the reputation is not there. The goal cannot be achieved. Then, you also have an issue of creative control. Creativity, in the music world at least, costs money. You can only be as creative as your equipment allows you to. A major label is able to provide an artist with those tools to be able to create on a level available no where else. Imagine what a producer such as Opio would be able to do with the same access and tools as DJ Toomp or Just Blaze. I’m not trying to say that major labels are a haven for MC’s or producers, don’t get me wrong. There are always issues to be found. The Last Emperor experienced problems with Aftermath and Interscope. They didn’t know what to do with him, which is a problem that occurs quite often.
